The Peñin Guide selects Giró de Abargues as the 2021 Revelation Wine from Spain.
The Giró de Abargues 2018 wine seduces the tasting team of the Peñin Guide 2021 among 10,500 references from Spain to achieve this year’s Revelation Wine Award.
Very knowledgeable about the trajectory of Pepe Mendoza for his creative vocation and interpretations of historical varieties in Alicante, this recognition will further favor to establish the identity of the Marina Alta vineyard with its dry farming and native grapes.
Among the six nominated wines, what most seduced the tasting panel was the decisive earthy expression and its elegance, being a different wine, with personality, wild and with a subtle herbal nuances.
The vintage of Giró de Abargues 2018 is a testimony to the evolution towards the production of more sincere, direct and less interventionist wines and a great aspiration of Pepe Mendoza.

The Peñin Revelation Wine Award 2021 is a stimulus for the continuity of the Casa Agrícola Winery, whose purpose is to add to the identity of vineyards from the Spanish Mediterranean Levant in La Marina Alta.
