Have you ever wondered how the vines can look so alive under this extreme heat, with an unrelenting sun and the scarce rainfall that barely touches our Mediterranean lands? At Abargues, we practice dry farming, as our grandparents did, following the wisdom of the landscape.<\/p>\n<p>This way of farming is much more than just a method\u2014it\u2019s a tradition rooted in respect for the land. The vines grow without any artificial watering, relying entirely on the rhythm of nature. It\u2019s like a quiet agreement between the grower and the sky: trusting that the rain will come when it wants to, that the sea breeze will cool the mornings, and that the vine\u2019s roots will dig deep for water when the surface is dry.<\/p>\n<p>Dry farming offers us multiple benefits. Over time, the vines grow wiser, stronger, more resistant to drought. It consumes less water, preserves the natural harmony of the soil, and becomes a more sustainable and mindful agricultural model. Yes, the yield is smaller, but less yield equals more soul: clusters of grapes that are intense, small, and full of character.<\/p>\n<p>All of this makes the wine a true reflection of the landscape, the climate, and the spirit of the land where it was born\u2014known as terroir. The varieties are fully adapted to the climate and the soils.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the story of a land that thrives by embracing nature\u2019s limits, living gracefully with what it\u2019s given. The result is not just wine.
