The value of a rarity

It is an honour to see a national publication dedicate such a generous and beautifully written piece to Fierroca 2024. Not only for the 97 points in the Peñín Guide, but also for the sensitivity with which the story of the giró and the work of Pepe Mendoza Casa Agrícola has been portrayed. Thank you, José Peñín, for your words.

The article captures perfectly Pepe’s quiet revolution in the Marina Alta: rescuing the giró, a humble variety, and shaping it into a Mediterranean wine that is deep, fresh, and full of nuance. It highlights Fierroca’s unique identity — its unexpected fruit character, Mediterranean softness, fine tannin and herbal freshness — presenting it as a rarity sought after by those who value authenticity and landscape.

This publication coincides with the end of the Fierroca 2024 release: there are no bottles left. But a new vintage will be arriving very soon, continuing this story of territory and attentive listening.
